4 How-To's to keep improving your Medi-Spa or Salon

During these difficult times in Canada, Medi-Spas and Salons have been challenged to keep their business successful. While I've offered a number of ideas and tips in my last blog post: How to connect with your medi-spa or salon clients during COVID-19 crisis and not lose business, there are a number of business owners that may not know how to take leverage some tools to help them improve their operations, grow their audience as well as keep in contact with clients.




How to add an appointment scheduler to a Facebook page


Many Medi-Spas and Salons have Facebook business pages, but many are not taking advantage of the Facebook scheduler for appointments.


1. Go to your Page and click the ‘Appointments’ button above your home page photo.



2. You will be redirected to Facebook’s appointment calendar and choose the ‘Get Started’ button to schedule your available appointment times and days.



3. Set the days and times you want to regularly offer appointments on your calendar and then click Next.

Adjust your preferences for things like appointment approval and advance notice and then click Next.

4. Review your services and then click Next.

5. Choose whether you’d like to send customers appointment reminders or follow-up messages and then click Done.


How to auto-schedule your social media

Have you been posting, sharing or marketing on social media and want to step up your game? If you spend a lot of time on social media, especially if you are on more than one channel, then you should consider a social media manager to help organize your marketing schedule.

There are many social media managers available to make life easier when scheduling your Facebook, Instagram or other social posts.

Hootsuite is one of the better known managers. It offers a free plan for a single user including 3 social media platforms as well as various other plans for larger businesses. You can schedule your content manually or it can auto schedule content for you. It allows you to create search streams to find content relevant to your audience. You can also monitor all your social streams within Hootsuites dashboard making it easier to see what your followers are doing and saying. https://hootsuite.com


Another popular social media

manager is Buffer. They too

have a free version, however it is slightly more limiting in the number of posts and media channels offered for free. https://buffer.com





RecurPost is one of our favorites.

Getting started with RecurPost is super easy and they have a number of plans, including a free one. All you need to do is connect your social accounts to RecurPost and create posts that you want to go live on your accounts. After that, schedule your posts for the time of your choice or let RecurPost find the best time for you.


To create a one time post, choose ‘Add Content’ from the top left menu and select ‘One-Off Post’.


Then just upload your image, choose your social network that you have already connected and type the text you want to go with the post. You can choose to publish the post immediately or schedule it for a future date and time. https://recurpost.com/

You can also create different

libraries that the auto-scheduler can draw posts from and even choose the best time of day to post for you.












How to create a meme or other social media post


Traditionally, a meme is often a humorous or satirical piece of content and often involves a stock photo or screenshot from a movie, viral video or magazine paired with some absurd text or witty caption giving it new context.

However, creating a meme uses the same tools and skills as creating any other social media post, including those that you might use to promote your beauty business.

If you want to create some funny or practical memes, the largest, free meme maker online is imgflip.com


Here you can upload your own images or browse their free images using a keword search.


The interface is

straight forward, just add text in the already placed text boxes.


Choose your font color and style by clicking on the gear icon to the right of the text box. To reposition the text, just move your mouse over the text boxes on the image, and drag them to where ever you would like.


Once you’ve played with all the options and are satisfied with the result, just hit ‘Generate Meme’. I recommend downloading it to save on your own computer so you can add it to your social media auto scheduler.

Remember, if you have your own images, photos, etc – you can choose to upload them to imgflip and take advantage of the super simple and quick interface to create any type of social media post you would like.

How to build and schedule email campaigns


Keeping in contact with your clients to offer them beneficial tips or advice as well as letting them know about upcoming promotions is vital to keeping your business from shrinking and can also help grow your business, if you have a referral program and you are letting your customer know about it.
